Perian’s Journey

by Sue Bridgwater and Alistair McGechie

Perian’s Journey follows the life of a man from childhood to death, recounting how he ‘worked and loved and lived’, how he achieved greatness, how his journey through life was long and hard, but good…

My involvement in this gem of a fantasy has mainly been with the re-design of the cover and book layouts for the paperback and digital editions, which are currently a few weeks away from publication, so mostly of a technical nature as the 1989 hardback is still available, but out of print. Sue is a good friend and DreamWorlds Publishing colleague and, when we decided to go ahead with the new editions, she showed me this wonderful water colour map that Alistair had done, but which hadn’t been used in the original printing. Really, I had very little to do artistically with the cover design except for the ‘antiquing’ and throwing in the compass and some tweaking of the lettering to give it a parchment-like look and feel. The typography for the cover and internal chapter head devices  have been re-done however to give the new editions a fresh updated look.

Dreamless Roads ~ a fantasy anthology

My newest ‘baby’ has now hit the cyber-shelves and is a collaborative work, but it is DreamWorlds Publishing’s first ‘proper’ publication. I’ve contributed Dreamless Roads, Onwards and Upwards (which was a ‘stand alone’ chapter in Milele Safari) and The Dead Path to the mix, as well as being chief editor and cover and layout designer and general production monkey. Labour of love – for further details and how to get your copy, please go HERE.
