A Huge Welcome for #RRBC Spotlight Author ~ RHANI D’CHAE!

Today it’s my very great pleasure to host wonderful author, Rhani D’Chae, during her Spotlight Author month on #Rave Reviews Book ClubAnd, without further ado, let’s hear from Rhani herself!

The Drill Series

rhani-bcShadow of the Drill came after a friend gave me a (bad) idea for a character’s name that developed into an idea for a book about an unrepentant enforcer by the name of Decker, who is known on the streets as the Drill. I wrote the book fairly quickly, and self-published it using PageMaker and my home computer. I sold the books online for a short period of time and then I read one. And I was forced to admit that my wonderful book was crap. It was crap with potential but…it was still crap. At that point I stopped selling Shadow and gave it an extensive rewrite that resulted in a novel that I am incredibly proud of.

Shadow of the Drill centers on two men, Decker and Rudy, whose lives were changed by the same senseless act of violence. Whatever their path might have been was taken from them in a downtown alley where Heaven’s tears rained down on the battered body of the girl that they loved. It follows them as they come face to face with their oldest enemies and attempt to close that chapter of their lives.

Winter of the Drill is the second book in the series, and should be released in the next month or so. The boys are back, along with other characters from the first book. The story concerns a business rival who sets his sights on the nightclub that Rudy owns and who will stop at nothing to get it. An imported sharpshooter takes aim, and Rudy must make some decisions as the people around him start to fall. This book has a fairly high body count, and it’s quite possible that your favorite character(s) won’t make it through to the final page.

A brutal experience transforms an unproven young tough into a ruthless killing machine. For 15 years he waited, building his body into an unstoppable weapon so that vengeance would be had through the strength of his will and the power of his hands.

  1. Hi, Rhani and Jan! “Shadow of The Drill” remains high on my list of favorite reads. Decker and Rudy are both truly memorable characters, and I am excited to hear that you have a sequel “Winter of The Drill” coming out soon. I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

    • Hi Sooz, thanks for stopping by. Winter should be out in the next couple of weeks, and most of the people that you met in Shadow will still be around. But…whether or not they make it to the end of the book is a different thing altogether. 😁

      • I’m grinning here! I’m not good at this waiting thingy. Pacing, pacing, pacing … do you know how hard it is to pace up and down in a wheelchair? Seriously! :0
